printshot1STANDARD PRINTS are quality laser reproductions made for me by a printer in Eugene, OR called Green Printing Solutions. The prints are layed out in the style shown in the picture above, with a white border usually 1- 2.5" thick all around (varies depending on the proportions of the original painting) and the title and my name printed below the image. The prints are packaged in cellophane with an acid-free backing board. Standard prints are no longer available for online purchase directly from impsandmonsters.com, but can instead be found online at Lady Nin's, in person at most events, and also at some galleries.

GICLEÉ PRINTS:

Some paintings have giclée prints available for purchase. These are significantly higher quality prints known for their true colors and longevity, and they most closely resemble the original painting. They are run in limited quantities (most are runs of 20 - 75) and are hand signed & numbered by Justin Hillgrove. The size listed represents the actual image size. See below for descriptions of each kind of gicleé print. All prints are are unframed. If you have any questions or would like to request a custom size, please email me at impsandmonsters@gmail.com

Gicleé 101: Giclée (jee-clay) is a French word meaning “to spray or to squirt ink” originated in the 17th century. This method of printing was developed in 1989 as a digital method of fine art printing. Sometimes referred to as an “Iris Print” (after the original machine that produced the print). It is the latest ground-breaking technological advancement of Fine Art Printing with a resolution higher than the traditional 4-color offset or lithography printing, and a wider color range than a serigraph. The latest inks used are very stable, giving fade and color shift resistance and offer 70-150 year light-fastness and UV-resistance under museum archival condition, and 70 years under average indoor light conditions.

On Watercolor Paper: Gicleé print on Textured Fine Art Paper by Crane®. Dimensions listed are actual image size. There is a thin white border around the entire image, usually .125" - .25". Print will need to be matted and framed. Prints over 11"x17" ship in a tube.

On Canvas (Not Stretched):Gicleé print on canvas. Dimensions listed are actual image size. There is also a 1.5" - 2" white or black border around the image that is used in stretching the canvas. Image is treated with a UV protectant varnish. The canvas will need to be stretched onto wooden bars - this service is available at most art supply or framing shops for a fee. Ships in a tube.
